The Hyper_Matrix: Theater of the Future Can you imagine a movie theater with three walls filled with thousands of pulsating 30cm x 30cm cubes? The Jonpasang team, comprised of Jin-Yo Mok, Sookyun Yang, Earl Park, Jin-Wook Yeo, and Sang-Wook Yu, created the Hyper-Matrix for the Hyundai Motor Group Exhibition Pavilion at the 2012 Yeosu EXPO in Korea.

The Hyper-Matrix is a kind of movie theater where the walls actually come alive. It is comprised of three walls that are covered with steel scaffolding and thousands of lightweight cubes, 30cm x 30cm, each controlled by its own integrated stepping motor. Each cube then pulsates in and out according to a choreographed routine.

There is not much I can say about this except WOW! This can definitely take 3D to a whole new level. I would pay big bucks to see a movie in a theater like this. You have to watch the video to see what I am talking about. Then be sure to leave us a comment and tell us what you think. I’m hoping to see this in the local theaters before too long. I really think this has the potential for the best movie going experience. It would be like I-Max on steroids.
